Drivers were urged to avoid an intersection near a suburban Berwyn middle school on Tuesday evening as police conducted an investigation, authorities stated.
Berwyn police issued a community alert on social media at approximately 5:07 p.m., advising residents to avoid 16th Street and Gunderson Avenue near Lincoln Middle School.
Footage captured by NBC Chicago’s helicopter Sky 5 showed two vehicles in the middle of the street and what appeared to be blood on the sidewalk. A number of police officers were working on the scene, which was cordoned off with crime scene tape.
