HGTV star Heather Rae El Moussa is opening up about her desire to have more kids.
Entertainment Now reported that Heather appeared on a September 2025 episode of The Penthouse with Peta podcast, hosted by Dancing With the Stars dancer, Peta Murgatroyd. While recording the podcast episode, Heather said she adores being a mother to her two-year-old son, Tristan, whom she shares with her husband, Tarek El Moussa. Tarek and his ex-wife, Christina Haack, have two older children, Brayden, 10, and Taylor, 14, per E! News.
Heather told Murgatroyd that she would like to give Tristan, whom she described as "very loving" and an "earth angel," a younger sibling. She said, however, that she is aware she might not be able to do so.
“I get emotional [talking about kids]. You know, I want to have another baby. I’m kind of like in that state right now. I have two beautiful stepkids," said Heather during the interview. "I have my son. So I get like emotional because of the one baby thing, and being a woman, I’m like ‘Am I ok only having one?'”
The 38-year-old also said she wasn't sure how her body was "going to react" to another pregnancy. In addition, she suggested she would like her son to have a younger sibling close to his age, meaning she would have to have another child soon.
Heather also referenced that Tarek has been vocal about not wanting another child because they are "already spread so thin." She clarified that he hasn't completely decided against having more children. She also said her husband isn't aware of how upset she is over the prospect of not having another child.
"I did actually speak to the universe the other day. Because I’m like, you know, if it’s meant to be, it’ll happen for us and just kind of let it go for now. Because every time I would talk about it, I would get emotional, And it's like I'm mourning if it doesn't happen," said Heather during the interview. "If it doesn't happen then mourn through that. But then you go through that unhappiness. And it's an inner [unhappiness], because you want to show up for your kids and smile and be there. But then you are mourning on the inside. That this may not happen. My husband doesn’t always see that. Because I’m smiling, and I’m having fun and I’m like ‘Well, everyday I’m not going to tell you that I’m mourning maybe not having a baby.'"

E! News reported that Heather shared that she and her husband have discussed not agreeing about giving Tristan a younger sibling during couple's therapy in a March 2025 episode of the Scrubbing In with Becca Tilley and Tanya Rad podcast. Heather said she wants more kids because Tristan "makes [her] so happy."
"But my husband is very much done. So, we're very different on what we want with our future, which is hard because you know you're in love with someone and you have this strong marriage, but then you want very different things. So, we are in therapy talking through things," said Heather on the March 2025 podcast episode, per E! News.
Tarek addressed his wife's Scrubbing In with Becca Tilley and Tanya Rad podcast comments during an April 2025 interview on Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea. He said he was "99 percent" sure he wouldn't have more children. He explained that he has been "a dad a very long time" and has been "very busy with work."
