Irwin is currently single and apparently too busy competing on Dancing With the Stars to date, but he aspires to one day have a love like his parents’. “I look at my mom, I look at my dad and I'm like, that's it. That's who I want to be,” he told People. “That's a perfect relationship."
The pair met in 1991, when Terri, originally from Oregon and dedicated to rehabilitating wildlife, took a trip to Australia and visited the small Queensland reptile park run by Steve Irwin and his family, the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park (which later became the Australia Zoo). The two hit it off and were married less than a year later, on June 4, 1992. Instead of a traditional honeymoon, the couple set out to rescue crocodiles; footage from their adventure was used in the pilot for Irwin's fame-making series, The Crocodile Hunter.
"My mom and dad met when she was this American tourist coming over to Australia, and that's also how my sister met her husband," Irwin told People, referring to his sister, Bindi (a DWTS Mirrorball Trophy winner), and her husband, Chandler Powell.

When did Robert Irwin and Rorie Buckey date?
Irwin’s most significant relationship to date was with Rorie Buckey, who was studying physiotherapy at Curtin University in Perth, Australia, at the time of their romance. (She’s also the late Heath Ledger’s niece.) They started seeing each other in November 2022, although they didn’t go public with their romance until July 2023, and split in February 2024.

“We wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways but profoundly appreciate all the time spent together and wish one another all the very best into the future,” the statement said.
