Huge news for fans of The Cure — the band has announced their first concert of 2026, their first live show in nearly two years.
The "Friday I'm in Love" group took to social media on Tuesday, September 16, to reveal that they will be headlining France's Rock En Seine music festival next August.
"THE CURE WILL RETURN TO FRANCE NEXT SUMMER TO HEADLINE @rockenseine ON SUNDAY 30 AUGUST 2026," read the all-caps text accompanying a promo photo of the band. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 17 via the festival's website. (This year's lineup included Chappell Roan, Kid Cudi, Vampire Weekend and many more.)
The new wave group — who have spawned such '80s hits as "Boys Don't Cry," "Lovesong," "In Between Days" and more — dropped their most recent album, Songs of a Lost World, in 2024. The record is the band's 14th since forming in 1976.
As for a new album? Frontman Robert Smith shared in 2024 that the group tends to churn out LPs in chunks of three — meaning that the band could drop their follow-up to Songs of a Lost World before their festival gig.
Following Songs of a Lost World, the legendary rocker told Matt Everitt (per NME): "The second one is virtually finished as well. The third one is a bit more difficult because, well if we get that far…," he trailed off. "Talking about the third album, you see what I mean? I just can’t help myself."

In the comments section of the band's Instagram post, fans were dying to hear news of a world tour in addition to The Cure's headlining show in France.
