For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Butterfly and backstroke specialist Samantha Villacis has verbally committed to swim for Florida State University beginning in the fall of 2026. Living in Monroe, New Jersey, Villacis trains and competes for Peddie Aquatics and attends Saint Thomas Aquinas High School.
Villacis holds seven all-time records for Peddie Aquatics. In 2024, she earned High School All-American honors, GMC Swimmer of the Year honors, and recognition as a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American in 100 fly and 100 back, all while maintaining a 3.7 GPA.
“l am BEYOND excited to finally announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Florida State University! Huge thanks to my family, teammates, and coaches that’ve supported me every step of the way. A special thanks to the FSU coaches for giving me this opportunity, Peddie coaches Emmet and Heather for helping me get to where I am now and St. Thomas Aquinas HS coaches. I can’t wait for what the future holds. GO NOLES!!”
