No. 3 LSU defeated visiting Florida 20-10 in Week 3 but Brian Kelly was livid with a reporter who asked him about the offense during the postgame press conference. FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt, however, agrees with the way Kelly responded.
“Stop, really? Is that the first question?” Kelly said during the press conference. “We won the game 20-10. Try another question. What do you want me to tell you? I just laid it out for you. We played the game to win the game. We played the game to win the game.”
Klatt believes Kelly won plenty of favor in the locker room for his fiery answer.
“I’m not 1 to sit here and defend a lot of what Brian Kelly does but I love that. His team loves that. Coaches speak to the team through the media. When you ask them something like that that is antagonistic towards a sector or a specific group on their team, they’re going to get upset,” Klatt said. “I don’t totally disagree with him because yeah you did win the game…He ultimately answers to his team.”
Next up for LSU is a home matchup vs. SE Louisiana on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. ET (SEC Network).
