Authorities have identified two of three bodies that were recovered from Lake Michigan on Chicago’s South Side Saturday.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said Jream Jaycee Washington, a 1-year-old girl, and Wyatt Bryden Patton, a 6-year-old boy, were pronounced dead. The two children were from south suburban Matteson, and the manner of death for both was listed as pending.
Police said the children were potentially connected to a third body, and all three deaths may have stemmed from a domestic dispute. The third person, who authorities said was a 31-year-old woman, had yet to be identified as of Monday evening.
The 1-year-old’s body was the first recovered from Lake Michigan, having been pulled from the lake near 57th Street Beach at around 11:30 a.m., Chicago police said. Around four hours later, emergency crews recovered the bodies of the 6-year-old boy and 31-year-old woman near 63rd Street Beach.
The investigations remained ongoing as of Monday, and the autopsy results were pending.
