Iconic Rock Singer and Guitarist, 77, Announces Las Vegas Residency: Ive Been Waiting for This

It's a good thing that all roads lead to Las Vegas, because Sammy Hagar—the former Van Halenfrontman and "Red Rocker" behind the classic anthem, "I Can't Drive 55"—is headed back to Sin City.

Hagar, 77, announced on Sept. 15 that his "Best of All Worlds" show will return to Dolby Live at Park MGM. The news came with a social media video showcasing some of the scenes from the previous residency, and an enthusiastic message from Sammy himself.

"I can't tell you how hard it's been not to leak this announcement," he wrote. "I must say those last nine shows were some of the best shows I've done in my life. I love this band like no other and can't wait to do it again. One listen to the live residency record coming out and you will understand this is my idea of retirement!!!! Beats golf any day."

"The Best of All Worlds" will run from Mar. 11 through the 21, and again in September 2026, from the 18-26. The 2026 residency will reunite Hagar with his "Best of All Worlds Band," which features Hagar's Van Halen bandmate, bassist Michael Anthony, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, drummer Kenny Aronoff and multi-instrumentalist Rai Thistlethwayte.

Tickets go on sale on Sept. 19 at 1 pm EST / 10 am PT at Ticketmaster.

    Sammy Hagar's Career

Sammy first burst on the scene in the early 1970s as part of the rock band Montrose, best known for the song "Bad Motor Scooter." When Hagar broke out as a solo star in the mid-1970s, he found success with songs like "I'll Fall In Love Again," "Your Love is Driving Me Crazy," and his best-known solo track, "I Can't Drive 55."

In 1985, Hagar joined Van Halen, replacing David Lee Roth as the band's frontman. He stayed with the group for over a decade, producing hits like "Why Can't This Be Love," "When It's Love," "Finis What Ya Started," and "Right Now" (which GenXers will remember as the theme to Crystal Pepsi).

Hagar exited Van Halen in 1996. He would go on to form a handful of bands, many with Michael Anthony (Chickenfoot, Los Tres Gusanos, The Circle, etc.). He also famously launched the Cabo Wabo tequila line, one of the first celebrity-branded tequilas on the market. Hagar sold his stake in Cabo Wabo tequila in the late 2000s, but he started the Santo tequila brand with Guy Fieri in 2019.

Hagar has never stopped rockin'. He even briefly reunited with Van Halen at the turn of the century.

    Sammy Hagar's Next Album

Hagar will also give fans a taste of the residency in October with the release of Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band—The Residency, a 19-track live album recorded during his first Dolby Live run.

Out on Oct. 10 via Big Machine Rock, the album includes live performances of deep cuts and hidden gems throughout Hagar's catalog, including "Heavy Metal," "There's Only One Way to Rock," and "Summer Nights." Stream/Save/Pre-order "Summer Nights (Live)" HERE and save/pre-order the album HERE.
