Former MythBusters star Kari Byron shared a sweet throwback photo featuring her castmates Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara, the latter of whom sadly died in 2020. Fans were touched by the nostalgic post and were happy to see Byron "keeping Grant's memory alive."
"Returning to the old MythBusters stomping grounds made my heart swell with memories," Byron wrote beside three photos of her, Belleci, Imahara, and other crew members standing in the middle of a depression in the desert in New Mexico. "These friends were with me at every smile this week [red heart emoji.] We did some big things here. Once in a lifetime experiences that I will never forget."
Byron and Belleci were back in New Mexico working on a project for their Mythfits podcast, but fans were more touched by the throwback images, which said, "Last time we were in New Mexico, we blasted a big hole. Best crew [red heart emoji.]" The photos are behind-the-scenes shots likely from the final season of MythBusters in 2016, where they conducted several explosion experiments with the help of the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology.

MythBuster's Host Grant Imahara's Unexpected Death
Discovery released a statement following the death of the roboticist and electrical engineer, saying, “We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family."
One of the show's main hosts, Adam Savage, tweeted, “I’m at a loss. No words. I’ve been part of two big families with Grant Imahara over the last 22 years. Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist, and performer, but also just such a generous, easygoing, and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I’ll miss my friend.”
Imahara left behind quite a legacy. In addition to MythBusters, he also starred in the Netflix original White Rabbit Project with Bellici and Byron, and competed on BattleBots with his robot Deadblow before becoming a judge for the show.
