Siri Vanderlinden from Leuven, Belgium, has announced her verbal commitment to the admission process* at Yale University for 2026-27.

Vanderlinden is a senior at Sint-Albertus College Leuven. A mid-distance freestyler, she trains with Leuven Aquatics and represents Belgium internationally. At this summer’s 2025 LEN European Junior Championships in Samorin, Slovakia, she finaled in the 400 free, placing 7th with a PB of 4:16.24. She was also a semifinalist in the 200 free (13th, PB of 2:01.49 in prelims) and came in 15th in the 800 free (PB of 8:55.08).

At the Belgian Open in April, Vanderlinden placed 3rd in the 200 free (2:02.25), 3rd in the 400 free (4:19.81), and 3rd in the 800 free (8:57.43). She was 4th in the 100 fly with a season-best 1:02.79 and she finished 6th in the 100 free (57.33), after having swum a lifetime best (57.17) in prelims.

Best LCM times (converted):

Vanderlinden’s best converted times would been a big help to the 3rd-place Bulldogs in 2025 at the Women’s Ivy League Championships. She would have been a top-3 finisher in the 200 free and top 8 in the 500 free (two ‘A’ finals devoid of Elis); she would have been on the ‘A’/’B’ bubble in the 100 free, and she would have come in 12th in the mile. She also would have helped the 4×100 and 4×200 free relays that placed 4th and 5th, respectively.

Vanderlinen will join verbal commits Elise Gratton and Ofek Adir in the Yale class of 2030.

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.
