Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Breaststroke specialist Dominika Borkowska has committed to swim and study at the University of Nebraska, beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. She trains year-round with Uczniowski Klub Sportowy Omega in Olkusz, Poland.
Borokowska confirmed the commitment in an email to SwimSwam, and provided the following quote:
I’m so exited to announce my verbal commitment to continued my academic and athletic career at the University of Nebraska. I want to thanks my family and coach for helping me get to where I am today. I’d also thanks coach Pablo and coach Pat for giving me this opportunity. I feel that Nebraska is the best place for me to study and swim in such wonderful atmosphere. I can’t wait to be a part of the Husker family. Go Big Red!
Borkowska has never raced short course yards, as she competes internationally in long course meters. Her best times stem from this past June, when at the Mistrzostwa Polski Juniorów meet, she took second in all three breaststroke distances, notching 32.53, 1:11.29, and 2:35.60, with the two shorter events representing new lifetime bests.
Although Borkowska has excelled in the more sprint-oriented races over the past year, her best time in the 200 breast, 2:34.81, stems from the Arena Grand Prix Puchar Polski meet in March 2024.
Top LCM (converted to SCY) Times:
100 Breaststroke: 1:11.29 (1:02.42) 200 Breaststroke: 2:34.81 (2:15.86)Nebraska is led by head coach Pablo Morales, who is entering his 25th season at the helm of the program. The women’s team finished 10th out of 14 teams at the 2025 Big Ten Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships.
The conference meet scores ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ finals, and to earn a slot in the ‘C’ final last year, it took times of 1:01.68 and 2:13.65 in the breaststrokes. Based on these benchmarks, and given she has another full year of development before arriving on campus, Borokowska appears to be an immediate finals contender in both events, assuming the transition to short course yards goes well.
Within the team, senior Maia Hall was the breaststroke star, as she became the first woman in school history to crack the 1:00 minute barrier in the 100. She logged 59.94 and 2:10.23 in both events to represent as the best Cornhusker breaststroker.
Borkowska joins Meredith Peyton, Mylie Bradley, and Georgia Holgate in the Cornhuskers’ class of 2030.
