While Christmas doesn't happen until December 25, for many businesses, it starts many months before. For some theme parks, holiday decorations go up as soon as the Halloween decorations come down or even before. Stores start displaying Christmas merchandise and holiday decor before we stop using our air conditioners and television and cable networks have started their holiday programming earlier and earlier.
Such is the case with Great American Family. The network is so excited about celebrating its fifth year of Great American Christmas programming that its festivities begin as soon as Friday, Oct. 10 this year.

Starting back in 2021, Great American Family was rebranded after CEO Bill Abbott and a group of investors took over the network formerly known as GAC Family (and before that, Great American Country) with just a handful of Christmas movies. That year, the network kicked off its holiday programming with a baker's dozen of original films featuring former Hallmark Channel regulars, including Merritt Patterson, Jen Lilley, Trevor Donovan, and Candace Cameron Bure.
This year, Great American Family brings back their Great American Christmas with many of their fan favorite stars, including Danica McKellar, Mario Lopez, Cameron Mathison, Jill Wagner, Christopher Russell, Jesse Hutch, Jonathan Stoddard, Brittany, Donovan and Bure.
“Just as familiar carols welcome the season each year, Great American Christmas has become a cherished tradition for our viewers,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media. “As we celebrate year five, we honor the stars and fans whose passion for faith and family-rooted storytelling makes Great American Christmas unlike any other holiday offering,” Abbott concluded.

Great American Christmas holiday programming begins on Friday, Oct. 10 on Great American Family and their app GFAM+. Holiday programming begins on their streaming platform, Great American Pure Flix, beginning on Thursday, Oct. 16.
