Gaza – SANA – Doctors Without Borders has warned that the humanitarian and medical situation in the Gaza Strip is catastrophic following the Israeli offensive that began on October 7, 2023.
Ahmed Abu Warda, director of medical operations for the organization at Nasser Hospital, told Anadolu Agency that the current situation is “the worst imaginable.” He explained that hospitals are facing severe shortages of medical supplies, while thousands of wounded and patients with chronic illnesses are unable to access necessary treatment. Facilities still functioning are overwhelmed by the surge in patients and the lack of essential resources.
Abu Warda described Israel’s order to evacuate the entire city of Gaza as “tragic,” stressing that countless residents have no place to go. He added that Palestinians in the enclave are struggling to secure basic necessities such as water and food.
According to the latest figures, the Israeli assault has so far claimed the lives of 64,718 Palestinians and injured 163,859 others, while inflicting widespread destruction on homes
