A Sacramento man was acquitted of weapons and attempted murder charges in connection with the death of his father after a bar fight turned shooting last month, prosecutors said.
Sacramento County court records show a jury found Oscar Alferez, Jr., not guilty of all charges back on September 8.
The incident happened at Harry's Sports Bar on Auburn Boulevard in the Old Foothill Farms area on January 26.
That's when investigators said Alferez, Jr., got into a fight with another person at the bar. The fight then spilled outside, where his father pulled out a gun and threatened the man fighting his son.
The father was disarmed and Alferez, Jr., picked up the gun and fired shots, deputies said.
The other man tried to drive away from the scene and hit the father in the process, killing him, according to deputies.
That man stayed at the scene until deputies arrived.
Alferez, Jr., additionally faced a murder charge in his father's death, but that was dropped back in February.
