It’s been two years since Jimmy Buffett’s passing on Sept. 1, 2023, and in celebration of his life at the two-year mark of his loss, many fans are streaming the Season 12 “On the Arm” episode of Blue Bloods, which marked the "Margaritaville" singer’s final TV role.
In the episode, the Grammy-nominated singer played dual roles. The first was as Dickie Delaney, a Jimmy Buffett impersonator, the second was as himself.
The story begins when Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), who is a Buffett fan, pays for the impersonator’s meal, thinking he’s picking up the tab for the real Buffett.

Here’s some dialogue from the episode when after a conversation with his partner Marisa Baez (Marisa Ramirez), Danny realizes he’s been had:

Danny: That’s impossible. He [Jimmy Buffett] couldn’t have been playing in Austin last night when he was sitting in the bar.
Baez: What he couldn’t have been was with you in New York City.
Danny: Son of a bitch. I got scammed. I need to find and arrest this guy.
Baez: And charge him with what? Fraud of a fish dinner?

But Danny is determined to find Dickie, so he goes on the hunt for the guy. Along the way, he meets the real Jimmy Buffett, whom he at first assumes is Dickie. But then Jimmy tells him he knows all about Dickie cashing in on the fact that the two resemble each other.

When the “On the Arm” episode of Blue Bloods aired in reruns following the death of Buffett, a slide card was added before the end credits that read, "In memory of Jimmy Buffett, 1946-2023. It was our honor to play with you."
