ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 37-year-old Level 3 sex offender has been convicted for sexually harassing and assaulting two students on the University of Rochester campus back in January.
Prosecutors say on January 17, 2025, Brandon Decapua exposed himself and chased a student in the library on campus.
Hours later, they say Decapua found a student at the Genesee Residence Hall and sexually assaulted and tried to rape the student.

After the student reported it to the U of R Public Safety Department, they were able to identify Decapua, who was not affiliated with the university and was on federal post-release supervision.
Decapua was convicted of burglary in the first degree as a sexually motivated felony, three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, three counts of attempted rape in the first degree, and public lewdness.
He is set to be sentenced in October.
