Kansas City Chiefs player Harrison Butker shared the final texts he exchanged with Charlie Kirk before the Turning Point USA founder's death after a fatal shooting.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, the conservative activist died at age 31 after he was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University. The suspect is still at large as a manhunt continues.

Later on Wednesday, Butker took to Instagram with a tribute to Kirk and a screenshot of text messages sent between them.
"Thank you for your strong witness for Christ, Charlie. Thank you for pursuing truth and leading your family as a husband and father," the NFL player wrote. "Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen."
In the screenshot, Kirk quoted from the Bible, writing, "Philippians 3:14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward all of God in Christ Jesus ?."
To that, Butker replied, "On the mission ? Thank you."

In the comments, social media users reacted to Kirk's final text to Butker.
One person wrote, "Amen. His tragic and untimely death will only wake up more people to the Truth. I hope people become more curious because of this and use it as an opportunity deepen their faith."

On Wednesday, a gunman allegedly fired shots from the Losee Center, about 200 yards from where Kirk sat at his “Prove Me Wrong” table while speaking as part of his American Comeback Tour. Although a "person of interest" was taken into custody, they have since been released and a search for the suspect continues.
