Rock and roll legend Alice Cooper may have been one of the first fashion influencers out there.
In a throwback photo shared on Instagram on Thursday, 77-year-old Cooper posted a black and white photo of himself sporting his now-famous thigh-high cheetah print boots, complete with a platform heel.

"Cheetah print...you just had to be there," he captioned the post.
The wild boots were sported during his 1973 "Billion Dollar Babies" tour and have since found themselves displayed in Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The fashion statement has also become a core memory for fans.

"Would still love to have a pair of these," one fan commented on the post. "Back when I was a teenager I bought fitting shoes and fabric to make them myself...no idea what happened to that project or why I didn't finish it."

Cooper's boots were hardly the least shocking about his style as he was known for donning costume-like outfits on stage, which included top hats, ornate jackets, and his signature heavy eye makeup.
Describing his stage presence as somewhat of an alter ego in a 2015 interview, Cooper explained that he's definitely going for a certain look.
"Alice has got a certain style, a villainous style," he said. "I always thought villains should look really good. They should look really sharp. Black. A lot of black. Slim, dark, sexy and dangerous. I don’t look anything like that offstage.
