Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a conservative activist, is dead at 31 after being shot—and he leaves behind a wife, Erika Frantzve, and two kids.
On Wednesday, Sep. 10, Kirk’s spokesperson, Andrew Kolvet, confirmed his death to The New York Times.

Charlie Kirk Was Fatally Shot at Utah Valley University
Kirk was shot in the neck roughly 20 minutes after he started speaking at Utah Valley University, a spokesperson for the university told the publication. A gunman allegedly fired shots from the Losee Center, about 200 yards away from where Kirk sat at his “Prove Me Wrong” table during the first stop of his American Comeback Tour.
“We are closely monitoring reports of the tragic shooting involving Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University," FBI Director Kash Patelwrote on X. "Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved ones, and everyone affected. Agents will be on the scene quickly and the FBI stands in full support of the ongoing response and investigation.”

Kirk's wife is Erika Frantzve, 26, whom he started dating in 2018. In a 2024 Turning Point USA video, he shared that he knew Erika was "the one" for him "almost immediately."
"I met her, and we had a very, very long dinner, which was very close to almost an interview," he said. "You should absolutely interview for your spouse. By the way, if they don't check the boxes, move on and go to the next one. Dating for dating's sake is bad for you, it's bad for them, it's bad for everyone. You should date with the intent to marry."
The couple got engaged in December 2020, before marrying on May 8, 2021, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Erika won Miss Arizona USA in 2012, according to her website. In addition to having worked in the entertainment industry as a model, actress and casting director, she founded a "faith-based clothing line," PROCLAIM, as well as the BIBLEin365 ministry program.
On May 20, Kirk took to Instagram with a sweet shoutout to Erika, writing, "Marriage is the greatest gift from God. I am blessed with the most amazing wife, mom to our children, and friend. Happy Sunday."

On Aug. 22, Erika shared a video via Instagram of herself and Kirk attending a Chicago Cubs game. "I love adventures with you! Go cubbies!!!" she captioned the update.

Charlie Kirk Also Leaves Behind Two Young Kids
Kirk and Erika welcomed two kids during their marriage. In August 2022, they welcomed a daughter, and in May 2024, they welcomed a son. Their children's names have not been shared publicly, and their faces have not been visible on social media to protect their privacy.
