ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A suspect in a shooting on Columbia Avenue is now in custody, but it’s still unclear what lead up to the gunfire.
Police say it happened on August 24 when the victim, a man in his 30s, and the suspect, 34-year-old Jayquill Snowden, were introduced to each other by someone they both knew. Shortly later, police say Snowden pulled out a gun and shot the victim. Officers aren’t sure why.

The victim showed up at Strong Memorial Hospital around 10:30 p.m. and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police found and arrested Snowden on Clifford Avenue Wednesday morning, September 10.
