Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates and her husband, Evan Steward, welcomed baby No. 3 as her sister, Erin Bates, battled septic shock after giving birth to baby No. 7.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, Carlin and Evan announced the birth of their third child via Instagram with a carousel of photos.

"The world just got a little softer ? Our baby is here. ✨," the newly-minted mom of three captioned her update.
For the featured image, Carlin held her newborn while sitting in a hospital bed as Evan smiled while gazing at the baby. The parents did not share whether they welcomed a boy or a girl, nor did they reveal the baby's name. Evan and Carlin also share a daughter, Layla, 5, and a son Zade, 3.

The happy news came after Carlin's sister, Erin, gave birth to a baby boy, Henry, on Aug. 25—and has remained hospitalized since. On Sept. 1, Chad took to Instagram to share that Henry's arrival had been “longer and more intense than previous births” and that Erin had a “severe UTI” and a kidney infection, resulting in septic shock and an ICU stay.
On Sept. 4, Chad announced via Instagram that Erin suffered a “lengthy and severe seizure.”
“Up to this point, Erins infection was getting better, but we found ourselves back in a place of heartache, uncertainty, and tears,” he wrote. “She is in the ICU, and the doctors are running scans and tests to determine the cause. Erin is extremely weak and spent hours only half conscious.”

On Sept. 6, UPtv fans breathed a sigh of relief when Chad shared a positive health update, writing, “With tears in our eyes, we are praising the Lord that we are on the road to recovery. ❤️?. Your prayers have definitely touched heaven. ??.”
After a few tense days of no news, Chad took to Instagram on Sept. 9 with a video of himself and Erin as she lay in a hospital bed while they listened to worship music.
“Recovery is not fast or easy, but we are deeply thankful for every small step forward. ?,” Chad wrote. “It has completely broken my heart to watch my Erin walk through such pain, yet to see her lifting her voice in praise to the Lord in the midst of it has been nothing short of inspiring. Her kindness and gratefulness she demonstrates to those taking care of her is nothing short of Christ in her. She has been a light wherever she goes.’

To conclude the post, Chad shared, "Yesterday, Erin was transferred to a new hospital where a team of doctors is working together to help her improve. The nurses have been so compassionate and have become like family to us.’
Earlier on Wednesday, Chad read a letter from his and Erin's 8-year-old daughter to her hospitalized mom, bringing fans to tears.
Hopefully, Erin continues her road to recovery with few setbacks, and Carlin has a smooth postpartum experience after baby No. 3.
