Kate Gosselin got real about how her body changed forever after her pregnancy with her and ex-husband Jon Gosselin's sextuplets.
The former Jon and Kate Plus 8 alum, 50, recently took to TikTok to open up about the lasting effects from her pregnancies. She and Jon, 48, became parents when they first welcomed twin girls Mady and Cara, both 24, in 2000, followed by their 21-year-old sextuplets — Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel — in 2004.
“When I was pregnant with them, my stomach was squished up here, like 1 inch. You can see it on an ultrasound," Kate said in the video of her pregnancy with the sextuplets. "And my bladder was squished way down here, compressed the whole time with baby weight. Compressed, compressed, compressed."
She continued, "And so when I had my c-section, obviously they put a full-length catheter in. Like the long-term, in-dwelling catheter. I think they went to remove it maybe like the next day. And all day I could not pee. And I had this pain that kept growing and growing and I was in horrible pain. I was nauseous, my stomach hurt."
Kate explained that the pain kept getting worse, and her doctor ordered her to get a foley catheter. The device "is a medical device that helps drain urine from your bladder," according to the Cleveland Clinic.
"And it filled one and a half times. Which a foley catheter bag is huge," Kate said. "I’m telling you, that is a humongous amount of pee. And I’m telling you, it filled one and half times."

After noting that they "obviously left the catheter in," she said that her "bladder was so compressed that it lost its ability to do what a bladder is supposed to do. It’s a muscle. And it lost its elasticity or whatever. So I took the catheter home, I kept it."
The catheter was eventually removed about one week later, but Kate said that her bladder was never the same again. "Ever since then, my bladder has never been right," she said. "I can’t exactly explain it, or put my finger on it. But it just is very different after that."
Kate went on to share that the issue with her bladder wasn't the only "really weird" thing to happen when she gave birth. “I was having really weird, awful pains and a chunk of something came out," she recalled. "And I kept it because back then I couldn’t take a picture and send it to my doctor. And he said, ‘Come in right away.’"
"And it turns out there were pieces of placenta left in me, which could be a horrific infection," Kate shared. "I think he put me on antibiotics and after that I was fine. But he went in and dug around, for lack of a better word and got those."
