Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Pointe-Claire Swim Club’s Kamila Blanchard has verbally committed to the Georgia women’s team for the fall of 2026.

I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Georgia! I want to give a huge thank you to my family, my friends, and coaches for all their amazing help and support. A huge thank you to all the coaches at Georgia who have given me this amazing opportunity. GO DAWGS!!

Blanchard recently represented Canada at the World Junior Swimming Championships (LCM) in Otopeni, where she finished her campaign with three top 30 performances. Her best finish came in the girls’ 200 IM, touching 11th in 2:15.78 (just off of her lifetime best of 2:15.66 from the Canadian Trials in 2024). She also turned in a 16th-place finish in the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.88, just under three seconds slower than her time from Canadian Trials of 2:29.95. She did manage to swim her lifetime best in the 50 breast in 32.98, good enough for 28th overall.

Last July, Blanchard was a three-time 15-17 age group champion at the Speedo Canadian Championships (LCM). The Pointe-Claire, Quebec native nabbed wins in the 200 breast (2:31.82), 200 IM (2:15.95), and 400 IM (4:48.57). She added two other finals appearances at the meet in both the 100 breast (1:11.36, 4th overall) and 400 freestyle (4:22.93, 6th overall), marking her best performance ever in both events.

Her performance at last summer’s Canadian Trials earned her a spot on the Canadian Junior Pan Pacific Championships team, where she finished top eight in all three of her events; she placed 5th in the 400 IM (4:48.57), 6th in the 200 IM (2:17.00), and 7th in the 200 breast (2:32.96)

    Best Times Converted to SCY:

The Georgia women finished 4th at the 2025 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships. Based on Blanchard’s best converted times, she would have qualified for the consolation final in both the 200 breast and 400 IM, and the ‘C’ final in the 200 IM.

Blanchard brings in immediate scoring potential for the Georgia women; her times already are very competitive with last season’s roster for the Bulldogs. She would have competed for the top spot in the 200 breast within the program, while her 400 IM would have ranked 2nd. Not only is this an addition of depth, but it also makes an instant impact within the SEC.

Georgia will add Blanchard to its 2026 recruiting class, alongside Virginia Hinds, Grace Hunts, Brooke Bennett, Maddie Thornton, Ella Antoniewski, and Abby King.
