Beijing – SANA- China on Tuesday launched a new remote-sensing satellite from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in the southern island province of Hainan.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the satellite Yaogan-45 was carried into orbit by a modified Long March-7 rocket and successfully entered its designated orbit.
The satellite will be used primarily for scientific experiments, land resource surveys, crop yield assessment, as well as disaster prevention and relief efforts.
This launch marks the 594th mission of the Long March rocket series. China recently conducted several other remote-sensing satellite launches from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province, northern China.
