Denise Richards is going back to her roots. The famously blonde Wild Things star and former cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is supporting ex-husband Charlie Sheen by appearing in his new two-part Netflix documentary aptly titled aka Charlie Sheen.
Just-released previews of the revealing doc give a glimpse at Denise candidly talking about her ex and their tumultuous relationship. Richards uses her appearance in the doc to debut a dark honey-colored hue to her hair, a departure from her signature blonde.

Fans were as surprised to see Richards’ dark hair as they were to see her in her ex-husband’s documentary at all. The Hollywood couple met in 2000 when Denise was a guest star on Sheen’s sitcom Two and a Half Men. The couple married in 2002 and welcomed their first child, daughter Sami Sheen, in 2004. Later that year, the couple announced their second pregnancy before quickly announcing they would file for divorce.
The pair has had their series of ups and downs, with Richards eventually pinch-hitting to help raise Sheen’s young sons Bob and Max (with ex-wife Brooke Mueller) when both Sheen and Mueller were battling addiction issues.
Over time, Sheen and Richards seemed to have buried the hatchet and have worked to raise Sami and daughter Lola in harmony.
“I’m happy for the two of them. They went through hell. You can tell there is still love there,” wrote one empathetic fan.
While some fans appreciated Richards and Sheen’s chemistry, expressing a desire for them to get back together, most commenters were quick to note just how lovely Richards looks with her darker hair.
