Smallville actress Laura Vandervoort and Adam Coates are officially wed.
People magazine reported that the couple, who began their relationship on a dating app, had their wedding ceremony, complete with 90 guests, on September 6. The nuptials were held at Canada's Langdon Hall Country House, Hotel & Spa.
According to the publication, Coates and Vandervoort had a "little backyard legal celebration" during June of 2025. That celebration had a much smaller guest list, which included the couple's family members and their dogs.
"We wanted to make the wedding feel comfortable for everyone, nothing over the top, very warm and welcoming," explained Vandervoort.
While speaking to People, Vandervoort and Coates shared what they admired most about each other.
"Adam is the most thoughtful, warm and beautiful human I have ever known. Hardworking, dedicated and my forever soulmate. I admire his determination, drive, work ethic, sense of humor, intelligence, goofiness and calm demeanor. He’s kind and loving," said the 40-year-old actress to People. "I love that we are best friends first and foremost, partners in crime. I love our little family we have created with the pups, our routines and all the goofiness that comes with it. I am grateful to have finally found my soulmate and can’t wait to share the rest of forever with him."
Coates, who proposed to his now-wife in September 2023, said he believes he and Vandervoort "are a really good team," as their "strengths compliment each other really well."
"It’s one of the many reasons why we fell for one another. One of our first weekends we spent together when we started dating, we put together an IKEA dresser and we had fun doing it," said Coates during the interview. "Not that planning a wedding is the same, but that gives a window into how we take on projects together and it brings us closer together."

Vandervoort began starring as Clark Kent's (Tom Welling) biological cousin, Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, during the seventh season of Smallville, which premiered in 2007.
The Canadian actress spoke about her time on the series in an August 2025 interview on the Inside of You podcast, hosted by Smallville star Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor. Vandervoort said while being on the show had its "moments of fun," she was often overcome by anxiety.
"I was so young, I was so nervous. I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I should have," said Vandervoort on the podcast episode.
