Drake White and his wife, Alex White, are mourning the loss of their precious newborn, a daughter named Della Elizabeth White, who was born on August 31, 2025, but sadly died shortly after birth.
In a joint post on social media, the married couple revealed the heartbreaking news, telling followers and friends that Della “went peacefully to be with Jesus.”

“On Sunday, August 31st, our precious daughter, Della Elizabeth White, went peacefully to be with Jesus,” the spouses began the Instagrammed post on Sunday, Sept. 7, which also included a black-and-white image of Alex holding her child in her arms while White wrapped an arm around his wife. “We are so thankful for the holy moments God gave us with her.”
“The Lord has been so near and close to us during this difficult time. He has held us up and sustained us through it all,” they added. “We are heartbroken and soul tired, but we know we will get through this difficult time with the strength, peace, and joy that only our Heavenly Father can provide. May Della be held in the arms of Jesus until we see her again someday.”
The loving couple, who are also parents to a son named William Hawk, went on to share two Psalms — 34:18 and 31:10, 14-15.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. -Psalm 34:18,” they captioned before adding, “I am dying from my grief; my years are shortened by sadness. Misery has drained my strength; I am wasting away from within. But I am trusting you, O Lord, saying, 'You are my God!' My future is in your hands. -Psalm 31:10, 14-15.”
Before closing out the devastating post, the Whites shared their daughters' milestone moments at birth, writing that Della was born at "29 weeks, 3lbs 3.5 oz, and 13.25 in. Born: Sunday, August 31st 2025, at 8:52 AM and peacefully went to be with Jesus at 9:12 AM.”
After sharing the news of their incredible loss, White and Alex received several condolences from family and friends as well as from other artists.
“My heart aches for you. Sending so much love and prayer your way. ❤️,” Lauren Alaina, who recently welcomed a daughter of her own, wrote.
RaeLynn added, “I am so sorry. Praying for you 3 ? Jesus is near the broken-hearted! Cover them, Jesus.”
“I am so sorry. I love you and I’m praying for you all,” Jessie James Decker commented below the post. “No one should ever go through this kind of pain. I know your sweet girl will always be in your heart and watching over you?.”
Drake and Alex White Announced They Were Expecting in May
White and Alex announced they were expecting their second child back in May, with Alex telling People in an exclusive interview that the couple’s baby girl was due in November and "We were able to conceive through IVF and had our frozen embryo transfer in March. We found out we were pregnant 10 days later.”
"Sharing the news with our family and friends has been one of the best parts of the whole pregnancy," she continued. "We love seeing them as excited as we are to welcome a new baby into the world."
