A man is accused of throwing a 10-pound rock through the window of a Greeley Police Department mobile radar van last week.
The technician in the van suffered minor injuries, and the incident caused an estimated $2,600 in damages to the van, according to a Greeley Police Department release.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on charges of first-degree assault, criminal mischief and third-degree assault. He also had an active misdemeanor warrant for another case, the release states.
Around 7 a.m. Sept. 3, Roker threw the rock through the window of the van, which was parked in a school zone in the 2000 block of 16th Street. He fled on foot but was apprehended nearby shortly after, according to the release.
The incident was caught on stationary cameras from the department’s real-time information center.

We are grateful for the swift actions of our patrol officers in taking (the man) into custody. Additionally, we are relieved our technician did not suffer from more serious injuries during the incident.”
Greeley police did not clarify the nature of the technician’s injuries.
The man was released on $7,500 bond. The Weld County District Attorney has until Sept. 15 to officially file the charges.
