The new AP Top 25 is out! The SEC is well represented with 11 teams in the poll this week.
Week 2 went well for all but one of the conference’s ranked teams. Florida was No. 13 in Week 2, but dropped out of the AP poll with a stunning home loss to South Florida as a big favorite.
After a thrilling Week 1 win at Clemson, LSU entered Week 2 ranked No. 3 overall. The Tigers took care of business against Louisiana Tech to remain undefeated entering SEC play.
Georgia was right behind LSU at No. 4. The Bulldogs have moved down 2 spots to No. 6 after the Week 2 win over Austin Peay.
Texas bounced back from its season-opening loss at Ohio State by winning the home-opener against San Jose State.
South Carolina had its home-opener after defeating Virginia Tech in Atlanta in Week 1. The Gamecocks pulled away from SC State in the 2nd half, but AP voters dinged them for a close first half.
Oklahoma was in the national spotlight for its ranked showdown with Michigan. The primetime clash received a visit from ESPN’s College GameDay. The Sooners defeated the Wolverines to pick up a ranked win for their resume.
Texas A&M improved to 2-0, though Marcel Reed’s exit overshadowed the victory. After the game, Mike Elko indicated Reed’s injury is not serious.
Ole Miss came out on top in Kentucky to win the first SEC game of the season.
All eyes were on how Alabama would respond after the season-opening loss at FSU. The Crimson Tide took out some frustrations, beating ULM in a blowout to win the home-opener.
Tennessee won its home-opener in a blowout to improve to 2-0. Up next, the Vols have Georgia on tap in a highly anticipated SEC showdown.
Auburn and Mizzou have played their way into the top 25 with 2-0 starts.
