CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating two overnight homicides that left two people dead and one person seriously hurt.
According to police, around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon in the 4000 block of Queen City Drive in west Charlotte. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound.
He was taken to a local hospital where he later died, officials said. CMPD says, "There are no individuals being pursued in connection with this case."

When they arrived at that scene, they found two people with gunshot wounds. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, the other was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
