Sayin throws for four touchdowns as No. 1 Ohio State dominates Grambling State

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Buckeyes wanted to be more aggressive on offense this week.

Ask and you shall receive.

No. 1 Ohio State dominated Grambling State Saturday, 70-0, as quarterback Julian Sayin threw four touchdown passes in his second career start.

Two of those throws went to sophomore wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who more than made up for his mediocre performance in last week's opener against Texas. He led the receiving corps with five catches for 119 yards and his 87-yard touchdown reception marked the longest pass play in Ohio Stadium history.

Sayin went nearly perfect on the field, going 18-for-19 for 306 yards. His only miss was an interception in the endzone by Tyrell Raby in the second quarter. Will Kacmarek and Carnell Tate also caught touchdowns.

Running back C.J. Donaldson scored his second touchdown of the season with a two-yard run to give the Buckeyes a 35-0 lead at halftime.

OSU came out of the locker room picking up where it left off with the defense getting on the board thanks to a fumble recovery return for a score by Riley Pettijohn.

Backup quarterback Lincoln Keinholz led the Buckeyes offense in the second half, producing three touchdown drives, including his first touchdown throw of the season to Jelani Thurman in the fourth quarter to put OSU up 63-0.

Ohio State returns to the Horseshoe next week to host in-state opponent Ohio, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. The game will be streamed on Peacock.
