W Hotel Just Opened Its First-Ever All-Inclusive in the Caribbean—Here’s What Blew Me Away Most

Opened in June 2025, the W Hotel Punta Cana is the newest in the Dominican Republic’s luxury adults-only all-inclusive landscape, and it marks millennial favorite hotel chain the W’s debut in the Caribbean market. Nestled in the exclusive, gated Cap Cana enclave along Insta-favorite Juanillo Beach, the resort is a breath of fresh air against some of the area's more dated properties.

With a lobby flanked by greenery, trees and lush landscaping, it feels like a step into a jungle oasis. Inside, the suites feature private rooftop plunge pools or spacious terraces with ocean views. At the same time, the eight dining concepts, including Scena’s Nikkei-style ceviche, Sensazioni’s modern Italian plates and the speakeasy-inspired 33 1/3, offer surprising culinary depth rarely seen at all-inclusives. Add to that sunset yoga on sea-breezy terraces and chic beachfront cabanas, and you’ve got a just-opened escape that is as exciting as it is indulgent.

    Beyond the Buffet

I hate the term "foodie," but that's exactly what I am. I started my career in recipe creation and have even authored two cookbooks. That being said, food is one of the most important aspects of any hotel for me. And I was genuinely surprised by how good the food was here. Trade Market had really impressive globally inspired plates from live-action cooking stations, while Scena, perched poolside, offered up seriously fresh Nikkei-style ceviche with views worthy of the grid. When I was craving something a little quieter, I hopped over to Sensazioni for mouthwatering Italian classics, like the creamy fettuccini. My husband's favorite was the hidden speakeasy 33 1/3 that kept the energy going with craft cocktails and music. By day, we were all about lounging by the WET Deck’s swim-up bar.

    Where Wellness Takes Center Stage

Wellness here isn't just an add-on, it's so thoughtfully woven into your entire stay. Situated right on the oceanfront, the spa treatment rooms are about as relaxing as you can get. With a full menu featuring everything from aromatherapy massages to revitalizing facials and soothing hydrotherapy rituals, every moment spent there is a true vacation for both body and mind. As a fairly active person, I found the morning outdoor yoga classes became one of my favorite parts of the day. Depending on the day, they offer sunrise flows, beginner classes and even more dynamic power vinyasa sessions. We spent a good deal of our mornings in the fully equipped fitness studio, too, which set us up for the bounty of food and drink that followed. They also offer group classes, including Pilates, HIIT and guided meditation.

What truly sets the W apart, in my opinion, is the seamless connection to the vibrant local culture and natural beauty of the Dominican Republic. There are daily curated excursions (which do cost extra) to anchor you to the local community and what makes it so special, including guided deep-sea fishing, horseback riding on the beach and visits to nearby artisan villages, offering authentic experiences that bridge the hotel with the Cap Cana community. As someone who has spent time at many all-inclusives, the W's connection to the local craftsmen, farmers and wellness experts of the community feels truly thoughtful and authentic. The concierge can also arrange anything outside of their daily curated excursions as well, if you source something on your own.

    Sourced and Sustainable

In 2025, if you're not focused on sustainability, your guests will notice. And W emphasizes sustainability by sourcing organic coffee, cacao and other ingredients from local farmers and artisans, incorporating authentic Dominican flavors into its culinary offerings. Plus, by employing local staff and partnering with regional artisans and farmers, the hotel supports the local economy and promotes sustainable development. Through these efforts, the W Hotel Punta Cana creates a rich, immersive experience that honors the community while providing the level of luxury you'd expect from a W all-inclusive.

    The Room Rates

Rooms can be booked for as low as $671 during the off-season (August-November). During the peak season, prices for the lowest-rated room range from around $800 to $1,200.

In short, the W Punta Cana is the Caribbean’s most unexpected luxury retreat: serious enough for its amenities, playfully sufficient for its design and thoroughly W—from architecture to amenities to atmosphere.
