NEWTON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Hickory-based comedian Jon Reep was arrested Friday on several child-sex charges.
Catawba County jail records show the 53-year-old Reep was charged by Hickory Police with one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
His total bond was set at $260,000, and his next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 8.
Reep rose to fame in 2004 as "the Hemi guy" in Dodge Ram commercials, and has been on a national tour this year.
According to his website, he is scheduled to perform in Goldsboro Friday night.
