A new drinks package option has Carnival cruisers buzzing. The popular cruise line announced its first-ever non-alcoholic drinks-only package and it's at a substantially lower price point than its premium drinks package.
Carnival cruisers will now have a bundle-price package for the types of drinks they've come to love and expect at sea. Choices will include barista-made coffee drinks, smoothies, sodas, energy drinks, zero-proof mocktails, non-alcoholic sparkling wines and more.
“Cheers! Zero Proof is a direct response to what we’ve heard from our guests who want a comprehensive non-alcoholic drink package when they cruise. This new package brings together the abundance of our alcohol-free refreshments with the flexibility and ease that our guests already enjoy with our other beverage packages,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
“It’s a perfect fit for guests interested in an alternative to our traditional CHEERS! package with additional variety compared to our Bottomless Bubbles soda package.”
Cheers! Zero Proof is $29.99 per person per day and will include the following drinks:
Sodas (Coca-Cola products)JuicesBottled water (still and sparkling) and coconut waterPremium coffees and teasZero proof cocktails (non-alcoholic)Alcohol-free beerAlcohol-free sparkling wineFrozen drinks (non-alcoholic)Smoothies and bottled protein shakesMilkshakesEnergy drinksHow Does It Work Compared to the Standard Cheers! Package?
Like the other beverage packages, guests can now start adding the Cheers! Zero Proof package to their upcoming cruises online and the package will be available for onboard purchase in the coming weeks. Like with other beverage options, the package applies to the full length of the cruise and is just for one person. Age restrictions may still apply to mocktails and non-alcoholic wines.
Up until now, cruise goers have had to decide between the pricier $69.95 alcoholic-drink Cheers package or the Bottomless Bubbles $9.95 soda package, leaving them to possibly spend more per day on specialty coffees, energy drinks, milkshakes and other premium beverages. For guests who won't miss the alcoholic drinks, but look forward to a little more choice, this new option gives them greater savings potential.
Some cruise goers, however, are skeptical that the deal is a value for most passengers, saying you may have to drink 4-7 drinks to make the price worth it. Still, others cite the convenience of a one-price package and $7+ prices for specialty coffees, ice-cream drinks, protein shakes and mocktails as part of the deal, it could make sense.
