Ireland Baldwin is setting the record straight about her relationship with her famous dad Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin.

In a lengthy message posted to Instagram on Thursday, Sept. 4, Ireland shared how she really feels about her stepmom, who has been married to the 30 Rock actor since 2012.

"I wanted to take a second to talk about my step mom @hilariabaldwin. I think if people actually knew her the way I do, they would be quite surprised," Ireland, 29, began in her caption. "This post may come out of left field since I don’t post about her or any family members much."

Ireland, who is Alec's daughter from his first marriage to Kim Basinger, went on to address "misinformed comments" she expects to receive on the post, especially "plenty of comments about me only playing nice so I can secure my inheritance."

She then shut down that rumor directly, stating, "C'mon, people. I see the comments. I'm not getting an inheritance. I have 7 siblings ?."

After divorcing from Basinger in 2002, Alec, 67, went on to welcome 7 children with Hilaria, 41. The two share sons Rafael, 10, Leonardo, 8 Romeo, 7 and Eduardo, 4, as well as daughters Carmen, 12, Maria, 4 and Ilaria, 2.

Ireland previously had a complicated relationship with her father for a brief period, after sending a scathing voicemail message to his daughter when she was just 11 years old. In her post on Thursday, Ireland continued: "Hilaria is the reason I am able to have the close relationship with my father that I do. She is the reason I get to have siblings/a big family that I’ve always wanted. She has always respected me, accepted my flaws, embraced me, and has always shown me kindness."

"I met her as a teenager and I needed her as an example. I still very much look up to her now," Ireland added, before going on to celebrate Hilaria and the recent announcement that she will be competing on Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars.

"I am so proud of her for doing Dancing With the Stars and I CANNOT wait to cheer her ass on," Ireland wrote. "She deserves this! And it’s not my place to share the ins and outs, but this woman is a gem and deserves all the love."
