A motorcyclist died Wednesday night in Aurora after crashing into a car during a race on 38th Avenue, police said.
Two motorcycles were racing on eastbound 38th Avenue at about 10 p.m. Wednesday when one crashed into a Kia Seltos SUV making a legal U-turn in the 19500 block, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.
The rider was thrown from the bike and died from his injuries before police arrived, the release stated.
The second motorcyclist narrowly missed the collision, police said. That driver, who has not been publicly identified, briefly returned to the scene before speeding away.
No other injuries were reported, police said.
The motorcyclist killed in the crash will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office at a later date.
