Amanda Anisimova gained revenge over Iga Swiatek for her Wimbledon final defeat, with a stunning victory in the US Open quarter-finals.
Less than two months after suffering a humiliating 6-0, 6-0 defeat to the Polish star at the All England Club, Anisimova got her own back in Flushing Meadows with a 6-4 6-4 victory.
The US star was left in tears in SW19 when she became the first person in the Open era at Wimbledon to lose a Grand Slam final without winning a game.
But there were no tears this time around, as Anisimova showcased the best of her ability to get past Swiatek in Flushing Meadows.
After falling a break down in her opening game, fans may have been left fearing the worst for the home favourite.
But there was to be no repeat of her last Grand Slam heartache, as Anismova fought back to claim the first set, before sealing a straight sets victory.
And she was unable to hide her delight in her on-court interview afterwards.
Anismova reflected: “Playing here is so freakin’ special… this has been such a dream.
“To come back from Wimbledon like that is really special for me. I feel I worked so hard to turn around from that.
“Today means everything to me. I can do it, this is so special.
“It was such a fun match, I know it wasn’t three sets but it was such a battle for me.”
