A person was struck and killed by a North County Transit District SPRINTER train on Tuesday night in Vista.
The fatal incident occurred just after 9 p.m. west of the Vista Transit Center, near the 300 block of West Connecticut Avenue.
Vista firefighters arriving on the scene declared the victim dead. There was no immediate information on the victim’s identity.
The San Diego Sheriff’s transit enforcement unit will investigate the fatal crash.
