Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mahmoud Esmat has issued Ministerial Decision #101 of 2025, amending the electricity tariff for charging electric cars / vehicles.
According to the Official Gazette, the decision states:
Regarding AC charging stations up to 22 kilowatts (kW), the selling price to end consumers is determined as equal to the price of supplying electrical energy to the charging station from electricity distribution companies in accordance with Article One of this decision, plus 45 percent of the same price, based on this equation:
Selling price from commercial AC charging stations up to 22 kilowatts (kW) – Price of supplying electrical energy to the charging station from distribution companies × (1.45).Regarding direct current (DC) charging stations, the selling price to end consumers is set at the same price as the price of supplying electricity to the charging station from electricity distribution companies, in accordance with Article One of this decision, plus 180 percent of the same price, as shown through the following equation:
