Viktor Gyokeres has thanked Arsenal fans for his support since joining the club.
However, he refused to comment on their new chant for him following his arrival.
Gyokeres joined the Gunners from Sporting Lisbon in July for £63.7million.
He has since scored twice in three Premier League appearances after a brace against Leeds last month.
His scoring start in north London has coincided with a song created by supporters being chanted from the stands.
Set to the tune of Salt-N-Pepa’s ‘Push It’, the chant references Gyokeres’ alleged split from his girlfriend prior to joining the club.
According to reports in Portugal, the 27-year-old ended his relationship with actress Ines Aguiar in preparation of leaving Lisbon.
However, neither Gyokeres nor Aguiar have publicly addressed the split and they both still follow each other on social media.
Despite that, the song includes the lyrics: “He dumped his girlfriend, to play in red and white.”
Gyokeres was asked about the Arsenal fans after joining up with the Sweden squad on international duty.
He was full of praise for the supporters, telling Sportsbladet: “They have been absolutely incredible.
“They have shown me an incredible amount both during and outside of the games. I am extremely grateful for that.”
