CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — The seven people charged in the murder of Sam Nordquist are scheduled for a hearing in Ontario County Court this week.
Prosecutors say the seven people tortured the transgender man to death last winter for over a month inside Patty’s Lodge Motel and disposed of his body in a field in Yates County.

The seven suspects, Precious Arzuaga, Jennifer Quijano, Kyle Sage, Patrick Goodwin, Thomas Eaves, Kimberly Socchia, and Emily Motyka are facing various charges, including first and second degree murder, kidnapping, concealment of a human corpse, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Back in May, the suspects attorney’s asked the judge to separate the trials and to move them outside of Ontario County.

Officials say Nordquist traveled to the Finger Lakes region from Minnesota last September. His family reported him missing in early February after they lost contact with him.
