A woman died after she was struck by a vehicle near a Santa Ana intersection, authorities said on Monday, Sept. 1.
The crash occurred at about 9:55 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Edinger and Grand avenues, according to a statement by the Santa Ana Police Department.
Preliminary information indicated the woman was walking westbound on Edinger Avenue when she was struck by a northbound vehicle, police said.
Orange County Fire Authority paramedics took the woman to a hospital where she died from her injuries, police said. Her name was not released pending notification of relatives.
The vehicle driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said. It did not appear the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
