If you're waiting for the final Downton Abbey movie and already wondering, "What will I do to fill the void after I've seen the Crawleys ride off into the sunset?" Netflix has you covered. Their latest period drama series, House of Guinness, will premiere in September and might prove to be a "thirst trap" of multiple kinds. This edgy fictional retelling of the Guinness family history, while a period drama, is not PBS fare such as Downton Abbey or Sanditon. Instead, it opts to be a grittier series along the lines of Cinemax's Warrior or Netflix's Peaky Blinders, which happens to have a common thread with House of Guinness.
