Todd and Julie Chrisley rose to fame on the reality TV series Chrisley Knows Best. The show, which premiered on the USA Network in 2014, ran for 10 seasons until 2023.

In November that year, the real estate mogul was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie received a seven-year sentence, marking a combined total of 19 years in prison.
“Todd and Julie Chrisley conspired to defraud community banks in the Atlanta area to obtain more than $36 million in personal loans,” the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Northern District of Georgia said at the time, adding that along with their former business partner, Peter Tarantino, the duo “submitted false bank statements, audit reports, and personal financial statements to Georgia community banks to obtain the loans.”
The U.S. Attorney’s Office continued: “The Chrisleys spent the money on luxury cars, designer clothes, real estate, and travel – and used new fraudulent loans to pay back old ones. After spending all the money, Todd Chrisley filed for bankruptcy and walked away from more than $20 million of these fraudulently obtained loans.”
The U.S. Attorney’s office also found that the Chrisleys and Tarantino “conspired to defraud the IRS” to evade collection of $500,000 in delinquent taxes owed by Todd, and that Todd and Julie failed to file tax returns nor pay any taxes for the 2013, 2014, 2015, or 2016 tax years.
Todd and Julie reported to their respective prisons in January 2023, with Todd serving time at Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Fla., while Julie was behind bars at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.
