Inter Miami striker Luis Suarez is facing a lengthy ban after appearing to spit out at Seattle Sounders’ director of security in unsavoury scenes.
The 38-year-old failed to keep his emotions in check following his side’s 3-0 defeat in the Leagues Cup final.
All hell broke loose at Lumen Field after Seattle scooped their ninth major honour in their 18-year existence.

Former Liverpool hero Suarez initially sparked a melee after grabbing rival player Obed Vargas by the neck.
As players from both teams raced over to try and diffuse the situation, Suarez’s teammate Sergio Busquets then got involved.
The Barcelona legend approached Vargas, before punching the 20-year-old in the face, who immediately hit the deck.
And while the 2010 World Cup winner looks set to receive a hefty punishment, Suarez could also join him in being banned for an extended period of time.
In shock footage, Suarez could be seen berating Seattle’s director of security, Gene Ramirez.
Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari and Seattle assistant team administrator Eduardo Millan looked to usher Suarez away from the elder gentleman.
But they ultimately failed, with Suarez appearing to spit at Ramirez, who reacted as if he was struck in the face by something.
The two incidents involving Suarez have marred Seattle’s maiden Leagues Cup success, with boss Brian Schmetzer refusing to let the controversy spoil his team’s triumph.
He said: “My statement is, unfortunately that is going to take some of the attention away from what was a great Sounders performance.

That wasn’t his only high-profile incident in Merseyside, as he was also banned for eight matches and fined £40,000 in 2011 for racially abusing Manchester United’s Patrice Evra.
