Former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe just shared that her stepfather Rob has been diagnosed with ‘incurable’ stage four cancer.
On Instagram Saturday, Aug. 30, the reality star opened up about the heartbreaking diagnosis to her followers, revealing that when she asked for prayers months ago it was for her stepfather’s treatment and recovery.
“About 8 months ago, I asked everyone to pray for my step dad, Rob. I didn’t say why, but he was diagnosed with cancer and he was going into surgery to get it removed,” Bristowe wrote. “Your prayers worked and they had gotten it all. He then went back for a follow up scan, and it has moved into his stomach”
“He is now battling an incurable stage 4 cancer. We are all devastated. I do believe he will beat the time line given because he’s a stubborn strong warrior with a passion for life. But I really do believe in the power of prayer, the power of manifestation, and the power of love,” she continued. “So please send it all his way. He means the world to me and our blended family.”
concluded, “It was really special to spend the last few days playing cards, eating home cooked meals, and just telling each other how much we cherish our families relationship. Time is so precious.”

Rob is married to Bristowe’s mother, Leslie, and was featured during Bristowe’s stints on both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Bristowe did not disclose what form of cancer Rob is battling.
In the comment section, Bachelor Nation members offered words of support to Bristowe, Rob, and their family.
“Sending you so much love,” wrote Colton Underwood, who currently hosts Hulu’s new dating show Are You My First? alongside Bristowe.
“Sending so many prayers and strength your way ❤️,” said former Bachelorette lead DeAnna Pappas. “Prayers ❤️❤️❤️” added Bachelor in Paradise’s Susie Evans.

Bristowe recently spent time with her family at a lakehouse in Canada. During the trip, she showed her parents episodes of Are You My First?, which features a group of virgins attempting to find love in a luxury villa.
