DENVER (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department said that police are at the scene of a shooting in Aurora after "shots were fired by the police."
In a post to X at 8:17 p.m., the department said there is a large police presence at E 6th Ave and Billings Street, where they said an officer-involved shooting occurred and "one person was struck."
All lanes are closed on East 6th Ave between Interstate 225 and Sable Blvd., said the department.
The department notes that the circumstances that led up to the shooting are being investigated.
