Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson intends to get the Crimson Tide back on track after a stunning 31-17 loss to Florida State on Saturday.
He struggled in his first game as Alabama’s starter, particularly in the second half. After halftime, Simpson completed just 13-of-29 passes for 167 yards. Simpson also took a pair of damaging sacks after the break, which he addressed in his postgame media availability.
“I’ve got to look in the mirror, I’ve got to quit taking sacks,” Simpson said. “I’ve got to make sure I give my guys chances to catch the ball. I look back out at it and our fringe game, our high red zone, wasn’t very good. And that’s all on me.
“I promise you one thing, and that goes to every Alabama fan and my teammates, I’m going to work hard to make sure we get this fixed … We’re going to make sure that we get this right.”
