Viola Davis has embraced her latest age milestone, and she revealed the reason she feels "younger" than ever at 60.
When asked how she felt after turning 60 on August 11, Davis told People she was feeling "fabulous." She continued, “I'm alive. I'm breathing. I'm about to have a cocktail and some food. I feel happier than I've ever been."
Davis went on to share that she feels so positive about being 60 because she’s “done the work.”
“I've been curious enough about myself to do the work, and now that I'm at 60, I can really honestly say that I found home. I found my ruby slippers, and that, for me, has been extremely freeing,” the How to Get Away With Murder star said.
Davis continued, “I think that if I hadn't done the work, I would just feel old, but I do not feel old. I feel younger than I've ever felt, and I feel more grateful and in awe than I've ever felt.”
She has always been open about aging, and Davis previously admitted to struggling with her weight as each year has passed.

“I turn 56, and I don't know what fits anymore,” she said during an April 2022 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “That's when it hit. Everything gets wider, bulgier and here's the thing, I work out.”
Davis then shared that she is often surprised by her weight. “I get on the scale,” she said. “I look at it. I get back off. I get back on. I get off. And then I'll even take a hair pin out of my hair. I'll put it on the side. I get back on. And by that time I'm mad as hell.”
While she said that her changing body is likely due to aging, she also admitted that one alteration in her diet may have also impacted her figure. “I think it has something to do with those large glasses of liquor I've been drinking during the pandemic,” she said. “I've been knocking that back.”
