PITTSFORD, N.Y. — More than 70 first-year students were honored at the White Coat Ceremony at the Wegmans School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher University Friday.
The ceremony marked the start of a new semester and welcomed students into the pharmacy profession. According to school officials, the white coats symbolize health care and service to the community.
“I’m just excited to celebrate all that I’ve worked for these past four years of my undergrad and just finally see my dreams come true,” said student Victoria Liguori.
Another student, Shachyah Lewis, also expressed their excitement on the next phase of their educational journey.
“My expectation is that everybody of course crosses the stage gracefully, gets their white coats, be able to excel through this lovely four years of our academic and professional school year and of course be the best pharmacist we can be,” said Lewis.
Members of the class of 2029 also recited the Oath of a Pharmacist during the ceremony. Visit St. John Fisher’s website here to learn more about the school of pharmacy.
